Designers and Engineers: Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical Positions Open

Engineering Positions Open:

We are always looking for skilled designers and engineers, particularly with mining, off-highway, heavy truck , agricultural or military vehicle industry work experience.

Proven experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Pro-E is  required.

General responsibilities include:

  • Work with an international team on the design, development, manufacturing and assembly of off-highway mining vehicles and/or locomotive applications.
  • Research, develop, plan and design specific parts and components to meet customer specifications.
  • Develop a detailed technical data package including CAD models, Layout and Drawings
  • Assist Engineering teams on problem resolution of field, logistic and manufacturing issues.

We have openings in:

Mechanical Engineering, including structural, also Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

  • Areas of responsibilities include component systems, front wheel and spindle assembly, rims, front and rear brakes, front suspension system, rear axle, and running gear systems.
  • Perform software analysis (FEA) on strategic parts and components for reliability, durability and longevity.
  • Prepare engineering instructions for manufacturing and weldments processes
  • As a Designer, will complete drawings, schematics, models, BOM, RFQ, and various documents and other communications to insure essential information is understandable, complete and comprehensive.
  • As an Engineer, will direct and complete drawings, schematics, models, BOM, RFQ, and various higher level responsibilities within the Mechanical Engineering Department.
  • Occasional work as a Checker, will perform comparative checks of drawings and models (both components and assemblies) completed by other designers/engineers, to ensure completeness and accuracy against marked prints, to customer, corporate and industry standards.  Will identify and correct minor mistakes or deviations and/or bring to the attention of the engineering staff.

Hydraulics, Fluid Power Specialists:

  • Work with Hydraulics team on timely completion of drawings, layouts, routings, and component selections, including system/sub-system development, field support, and troubleshooting
  • Assist in planning and scheduling hydraulic systems projects with emphasis on hydraulic system component layout
  • Determine loads and forces required to properly attach and operate those components.
  • Select fittings and hoses for all ranges of flow and pressure and produce assembly drawings for production.
  • Develop hydraulic system piping layouts.
  • Perform heat transfer calculations.

Electrical Engineering:

  • Responsibilities include creating electrical schematics for each of the electrical systems and integrating new, innovative, cost-effective and complex design into the electrical system.
  • Create Electrical harness systems.
  • Specify and develop control system architecture for large mining trucks and all electrical devices such as controllers, sensors, actuators and software architecture.
  • Compiles and analyzes operational, testing and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified structures or systems.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • For Designer positions, an Associate’s Degree in CAD or Engineering is required, with minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related position.
  • For Engineering positions, a Bachelor’s degree or better, in an Engineering related field, with minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related position.
  • 3-5 years experienced in SolidWorks or AutoCAD 2D drawings and 3D modeling is required
  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and documents
  • Excellent oral and written language and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of ISO and DIN standards
  • Experience with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a diverse, multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • The flexibility and willingness to learn new software as needed

 

OTHER SKILLS PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Specific experience in ultra-class haul trucks ranging from 100-400 ton, other mobile equipment, off-highway trucking, specialty vehicles, or locomotive experience is preferred.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related fields
  • Experience in a manufacturing, machining or fabricating environment
  • Working knowledge of ProEngineer, Catia, Hypermesh, Ansys, and related software
  • Chinese language skills a plus, bi-lingual skills a plus any language

REQUIRED:

  • A valid Driver’s License
  • Valid work eligibility.

TRAVEL:

  • A valid passport is required, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
  • Domestic and/or international travel could happen up to 15% of work (1-2 trips per year Is a possibility)
  • Ability to obtain a China visa is required.

NOTES:

1.     Solidworks exams will be given to applicants during an in-person interview.

2      This is not an entry level position, and requires minimum of 3 years relative experience.
